Can you command joy? When you come sleepily out of bed in the morning, must you look forward to the day? When you hear the news, should we really have joy? If problems grow large, can you still look forward to it?
I remember the engagement period, where we sat on a park bench and looked deeply into each other’s eyes. Sometimes we did not even talk, just looked at each other. We were happy together. Bombs continued to fall, elsewhere people blew themselves up, elsewhere storm raged on and people died. But we were happy together. I was so elated and full of strength, I could have picked the stars from the sky. But if she was not there, I just lacked anything. I was unhappy, restless, nagged and was just lonely and sad. All problems seemed huge. No power and no desire to do even the simplest things. But when I saw her that changed abruptly.
So should be the connection and friendship with Jesus. With him, I am full of joy: he is with me. I can make my dreams come true with Him. I am happy. I see the problems, but I know the one who solves problems. In His hand I am safe and secure. With him I am happy, joyful, full of peace and full of confidence and strength. It is him whom I love. And I’m the one he loves. Wonderful!
Thank you, Jesus, You are so close to me! You’re the king of my heart. With you nothing is too hard, no problem too big, no goal unattainable. I am glad to know you and be with you!
