The Lord, mighty in Battle – 2016.11.07

Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
Psalms 24:8-9

Is there a Christian that lives peaceful life? No, because the enemy will pursue everyone who truly follows Jesus. A peaceful life isn’t possible anymore, only when you take a break from following Jesus.
From Jesus we get peace that is deeper than all reason. This peace surrounds us and keeps our heart in peace even in battle or war. Psalm 23 tells us: "He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters.
… You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
Truly, He takes care for us even in the middle of a battle.
The enemy uses our old self to bait and defeat us. Convenience, greed, money, power, enjoyment, and sex has already thrown off many Christians. In addition, the enemy makes our life hard by using other people that he stirs up against us. And he attacks Christians directly using misfortune, sickness, suffering, and fear.
When we follow Jesus we will be victorious against all those things. Furthermore, the bible is full of tips and tricks for our daily life for our struggle and how we deal with the Lord. We should know those!
Oh, isn’t it great to be on the side of the victor? At the moment it’s not noticeable everywhere, but He will come and build His kingdom. He has beaten the enemy already a long time ago! He is the King of glory. All power is His, here on earth and in heaven, for eternity. He is the king – mighty, strong, and invincible. He is a strong helper in every emergency.
Yes, I want to hide under His wings until the evil is gone. He, my king, will protect me. I won’t seek revenge, nor will I keep score of all the injustice I encounter so I won’t drown in bitterness and self-pity. I will do as the Lord did: I forgive and love. Lord, they don’t know what they are doing!
I won’t hit back or use words or courts to punish those that want to harm me.
I will listen to the Lord. Sometimes He says I should keep going! Let them have what they want so much – the Lord will repay you. But sometimes He says to stand firm. He will fight for you! And sometimes we need help form friend – advisers and someone to pray.
He is mighty in battle, and it’s good that I am on His side!
Yes Jesus, together with You I can win every fight. Thank You, for Your peace in my heart. Lord, sometimes I act on my impulses. I get angry, seek revenge, or act like a know-it-all. Please forgive me! And help me to trust You more in a fight. You are my strong helper in battle!
